BRAZILIAN VACATION HOME

Our client approached me to design a vacation home inspired by the forms of a conch shell. The home was conceptualized for a neighborhood located on the Brazilian coast about 1500 miles north of Rio de Janeiro.  A massive cone shaped window reminiscent of the crown of the shell looks out over the Atlantic.  Four stories of concave balconies offer an entire window view from each floor.  Cascading along the central staircase is a waterway with waterfalls descending to the floors below wrapping a lens shaped planter.  The building incorporates hanging gardens and water elements on the decks of each level.
